NearEU Module conducts Master Class series with partnering expert – Dr. Reina Shehi (Zenelaj)
On October 28th, the NearEU Jean Monnet Module hosted its fifth Master Class, entitled “Regional Security and Conflict Management: The Experience of Western Balkans”, which was delivered by the partnering expert – Dr. Reina Shehi (Zenelaj) from Epoka University (Albania, Tiranë). The Master Class evaluated the broader implications and challenges related to European integration and relations with the Western Balkan countries. The master Class highlighted the impact of competing projects of regional integration on Western Balkan’s geopolitical perspective and internal political developments. It has also discussed a combination of security concepts and conflict management theories in regard to EU’s approach and engagement with the Western Balkan countries.
Reina Shehi (Zenelaj) is the head of the Center for European Studies and a lecturer in the Department of Political Science & Democratization, Conflict transformation and European Integration of the Epoka University in Tirana (Albania). In July 2012, Kellogg School of Management granted her Dispute Resolution Research Center Scholar Award. Since 2017, she is managing editor of the Journal of European Social research and the chair of the two organized workshops on “Peace in the Balkans, Peace in Europe: Lessons Learned”. International Relations at Epoka University where she has been a faculty member since 2011. She has an interdisciplinary research orientation and her academic works cover such fields as Conflict Management, Peace Studies, International Relations, Regional Politics.
